Introducing the Coolerworx Short Shifter developed specifically for the legendary Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205.
This project was born from the passion of the Toyota Celica community — a group of true enthusiasts who asked us to create a high-quality short shifter for their iconic car.

The Celica GT-Four ST205, last produced in 1999, remains one of the most beloved AWD performance Toyotas ever made. But as the years went by, finding new or upgraded shifter components became nearly impossible. Toyota discontinued OEM parts long time ago, and the aftermarket offered no proper solution — until now.

The Story Behind It

To answer the community’s call, our Coolerworx R&D team decided to take on the challenge the right way — by purchasing a Celica GT ourselves.
We conducted a full 3D scan of the car’s interior to ensure perfect fitment and precise dimensions for the new shifter and its surrounding trim.

The result is a shifter that not only restores the original shifting performance but elevates it far beyond factory level — delivering the precision, feel, and quality that every GT-Four owner deserves.

The Challenge

Most Celica GT-Four ST205 cars are now more than 25 years old, and many of the original shifter parts are worn out.
The stock shift cables have rubber inserts that, after all these years, become soft and cracked, causing unwanted play and poor feedback.

To fix this, we first made our own tools to replace those parts. Then we built a full selector rebuild kit, replacing the rubber inserts with solid aluminum ones.
This removed the extra play and gave the gearbox a much better, more direct feel.

What Makes It Special

Together with our Cable and Selector Rebuild Kit, the Coolerworx short shifter completely changes the way the Celica shifts.

It has a longer handle than the OEM version, making gear changes quicker and easier.
A centering spring keeps the shifter firm and helps you find gears more accurately.

You can also choose it with or without a reverse lockout, depending on what you prefer.
